In 1998, Adam Weiner created Puck’s Theatre. Our mission is to bring the arts to at-risk youth and young people generally through a variety of programs.
The arts are integral to the human experience. It makes you appreciate life. It gives you understanding. It lets you evaluate the choices of others in a way that can change your own life. What are the lessons of Macbeth, or Hamlet, or Medea, or Tartuffe? A production of Romeo and Juliet can teach the lessons of tolerance and understanding better than a thousand lectures on the subject.
The truth of the matter is that without art in our lives, we all become at-risk. Our respect for society dissolves; we become isolated in front of our computer screen or TV. We sit there cursing and fearing the world outside our door.
